Joe Bonamassa: Blues Deluxe Vol. 2

On October 6, 2023, “J&R Adventures” label released “Blues Deluxe Vol. 2”, the sixteenth Joe Bonamassa studio album. It was recorded at “Sunset Sound Studio B”, “Ocean Way Nashville”, and was produced by Josh Smith. It serves as a successor to the original “Blues Deluxe”, released 20 years earlier.

On September 8, 2024, George Bruno “Zoot” Money died aged 82. He was vocalist, musician (keyboards, bass) and band leader), best known as member of Big Roll Band. He recorded with The Scaffold, Spencer Davis, Thunderclap Newman, Widowmaker, Alan Price, Alexis Korner, Alvin Lee, Andy Roberts, The Animals, Brian Friel, The British Blues Quintet, Centipede, Dantalian’s Chariot, Eddie Harris, Eric Burdon, Marc Ellington, Grimms, Johnny Almond Music Machine, Jim Diamond, Georgie Fame, Kevin Ayers, Kevin Coyne, Humble Pie, Juicy Lucy, La Tour, Long John Baldry, Lonnie Donegan, Mike McGear, Peter Green, Pete York, Roger McGough and Ruby Turner. As leader, Money released ten albums.

John Mayall

On July 22, 2024, John Mayall died aged 90. He was musician (keyboards, harmonica, guitar), singer, songwriter and producer. In the 1960s, he formed John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, a band that has counted among its members some of the most famous blues and blues rock musicians, including Sammy Prosser, Davey Graham, John Gilbey, Ricky Brown, Pete Burford, Sam Stone, Brian Myall, Keith Robertson, Bernie Watson, John McVie, Peter Ward, Martin Hart, Roger Dean, Hughie Flint, Eric Clapton, John Weider, John Slaughter, Geoff Krivit, Peter Green, Jack Bruce, Mick Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Micky Waller, Mick Fleetwood, Terry Edmonds, Keef Hartley, Chris Mercer, Rip Kant, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Paul Williams, Keith Tillman, Henry Lowther,  Andy Fraser, Tony Reeves and Jon Hiseman. John Mayall was referred to as the “Godfather of the British Blues”, and the “Pioneer of the British Blues”, with career that spanned nearly seven decades, remaining an active musician until his death. He released seventy albums (studio and live).

On July 3, 2023, Michael Ralph “Mo” Foster died aged 79. He was multi-instrumentalist, composer, record producer, author, and public speaker. In his career spanning over half a century, Foster recorded and performed with dozens of artists, including Jeff Beck, Gil Evans, Phil Collins, Ringo Starr, Joan Armatrading, Gerry Rafferty, Brian May, Scott Walker, Frida (of ABBA), Cliff Richard, Van Morrison, Dr John, Hank Marvin, Heaven 17, the London Symphony Orchestra, Peter Green, Micheal Schenker, Gary Moore, Sting, Cher, Olivia Newton John, Elkie Brroks, Neil Innes, Judie Tzuke, Sheena Easton, Meat Loaf, Trevor Rabin, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Luka Bloom, Tim Rice, Nigel Kennedy, Affinity, Mike d’Abo, Roger Glover, Jimmy Helms. On August 9, 2020, Martin Birch died aged 71. He was a music producer and sound engineer, worked with numerous musicians and bands including Jeff Beck, Peter Green, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, The Groundhogs, Canned Heat, John Lee Hooker, Rainbow, Toad, Black Sabbath, Skid Row, Stackridge, Faces, Flash, Blue Öyster Cult, Iron Maiden, Silverhead, Gary Moore, Wayne County & the Electric Chairs, Roger Glover, Cozy Powell, and Michael Schenker Group.

On July 25, 2020, Peter Allen Greenbaum aka Peter Green died aged 73. He was singer, songwriter, and musician (guitar), member of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, co-founder of Fleetwood Mac, member of Katmandu, and founder of Peter Green Splinter Group. Green was one of the most important figures of the British blues movement, praised by famous guitarists like B.B. King and Eric Clapton. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked him at number 58 in its list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. Magazine “Guitar Player” rated his tone on “The Super-Natural” as one of the “50 Greatest of All Time. Magazine “Mojo” rated Green In June 1996, Green was voted the third-best guitarist of all time. In 1998, as a member of Fleetwood Mac he was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”. As leader, Green recorded six albums:
