Texas Flood

On June 13, 1983, “Epic” label released “Texas Flood”, the debut Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble album. It was recorded in November 1982, at “Down Town Studio” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tommy Shannon, Chris Layton and Richard Mullen. “Texas Flood” was certified 2 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”, and Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”.

On May 27, 1975, “Capitol” label released “Venus and Mars”, the fourth Wings studio album. It was recorded 5–13 November 1974, at “Abbey Road Studios” in London, 20 January–20 February 1975 at “Sea Saint” in New Orleans, and “Wally Heider Studios”, and was produced by Paul McCartney. The album has been certified Platinum in UK (BPI), Canada (Music Canada) and in the US (RIIA).

On May 25, 1973, “Virgin” label released “Tubular Bells”, the debut Mike Oldfield album. It was recorded 1972 – 1973, at “The Manor” in Oxfordshire, and was produced by Tom Newman, Simon Heyworth and Mike Oldfield.  “Tubular Bells” was the first album released by “Virgin” label. It was certified 7 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”, 10 x Platinum in Australia by the “ARIA”, and Gold in US by the “RIIA”.  In 1975, Mike Oldfield received “Grammy Award” for the best” Instrumental Composition”.

On May 8, 1970, “Apple” label released “Let It Be”, the twelve and final Beatles (The) studio album. It was recorded February 1968, January–February 1969, January; March–April 1970, at “Abbey Road Studios” and “Apple Studios” and “Twickenham Film Studios” in London, and was produced by Phil Spector and George Martin. The album was released at the same time with a motion picture of the same name. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Let it Be” at number 392 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by the “ARIA”, 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada” and 4 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded September – December 1985, at “Sweet Silence Studios” in Copenhagen, and was produced by James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Cliff Burton, Lars Ulrich and Flemming Rasmussen. “Master of Puppets” was the band’s last album to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a bus crash in Sweden during the album’s promotional tour. In 2003, “Master of Puppets” was certified 6× Platinum in the US by the “RIAA”, 6× Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Master of Puppets” at number 167 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”; “Time” included the album in its list of the “100 Best Albums of All Time”; magazine “Guitar World” voted “Master of Puppets” the fourth greatest guitar album of all time.

On December 10, 1976, “EMI” label released “A Day at the Races”, the fifth Queen studio album.  It was recorded at the “Sarm East”, “The Manor” and “Wessex Studios”, and was produced by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. This was  the second band’s album that took  its name from  Marx Brothers movie (the previous was “A Night at the Opera). In 2006, in “BBC” pool “A Day at the Races” was voted the 67th greatest album of all time. The album was certified Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”, and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.
