On September 2, 1981, “Columbia” label released “1234”, the fourth Ronnie Wood solo album. It was recorded April–May 1981, at “Chateau Recorders” in Hollywood, and “Record Plant” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Ronnie Wood and Andy Johns.

On August 24, 1981, “Rolling Stones” label released “Tattoo You”, the sixteen Rolling Stones (The) album. It was recorded November–December 1972, January–March 1975, January–March 1978, January–October 1979, October 1980 – June 1981, and was produced by The Glimmer Twins. In 1989, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Tattoo You” at number 213 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. Peter Corriston, who was responsible for the album art direction and design, won a “Grammy Award” in the category of “Best Album Package”. The album was certified 4 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada” and 4 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded in December 1980, at “Red Bus Studios”, “Abbey Road Studios”, “Utopia Studio” and “Chipping Norton Recording Studios”, and was produced by Colin Thurston. In December 1982, the album was certified Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded in March 1981, at “Rockfield Studios” in Monmouth, Wales, and was produced by Hugh Jones , Ian McCulloch, Les pattinson, Pete de Freitas and Will Sergeant. In 1981 ”Heaven Up Here” was voted “Best Dressed LP” and “Best Album” awards at the “NME Awards”. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 471 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.

On May 29, 1981, “DEP International” label released “Present Arms”, the second UB 40 album. It was recorded in 1981, and was produced by Ray “Pablo” Falconer,  Bob Lamb, Astro, Jimmy Brown, Ali Campbell, Robin Campbell, Earl Falconer, Brian Travers and michael Virtue. On October 5, 1981, dub version of the album called “Present Arms in Dub” was released.
