On August 15, 1981, label “Sire” released “Pretenders II”, the second   Pretenders (The) studio album. It was recorded 1980–1981, at
“Wessex Studios”, London and “Pathe Marconi Studios”, Paris and was produced by Chris Thomas.

Bob Marley

On May 11, 1981, Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley died aged 36. He was singer, songwriter, musician (guitar), regarded as the most important artist in the reggae history and achieved status as one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records.

Mike Bloomfield

On February 15, 1981, Michael Bernard “Mike” Bloomfield died aged 38. He was musician (guitar) and songwriter, member of the “Paul Butterfield Band” and “Electric Flag” and played on Dylan’s album “Highway 61 revisited: In 2003 he was ranked at number 22 on “Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”
