On September 29, 1997, “Hut” label released “Urban Hymns” the third Verve studio album. It was recorded October 1996 – May 1997, at “Olympic Studios” in London, and was produced by Richard Ashcroft, Nick Mccabe, Simon Tong , Peter Salisbury, Chris Potter and Youth. In 1998, “Urban Hymns”  won “Best British Album” at the “Brit Awards”. In 2001, “Q” magazine readers ranked the album at number 18 in the vote for the “Greatest Albums of All Time”, and in 2006, its editors voted it the 16th greatest album of all time. The Verve were awarded with the first ever “Q Classic Album” award for this album at the 2007 “Q Awards”. As of 2015, “Urban Hymns” was ranked the 18th best-selling album in UK chart history.  The critical and commercial success of the album won The Verve, two “Brit Awards” in 1998, including “Best British Group”. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; Platinum in Belgium by “BEA”; 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; Platinum in Netherlands by “NVPI”; 5 x Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ”; Platinum in Sweden by “GLF”; Platinum iin Switzerland by “IFPI Switzerland”; 10 x Platinum in UK by “BPI”; Platinum in the US by “RIIA”, and 4 x Platinum in Europe by “IFPI”.

On September 29, 1995, “Motor Music” label released “Herzeleid” the debut Rammstein album. It was recorded in 1995, at “Polar Studios” in Stockholm, and was produced by Jacob Hellner and Carl-Michael Herlöfsson. In 2005,  “Rock Hard” magazine ranked “Herzeleid”  at number 303 in its book of “The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time”. The album was certified Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”.

On September 29, 1977, “Family Productions” label released “The Stranger” the fifth Billy Joel studio album. It was recorded July – August 1977, at “A&R Recording, Inc.” in New York City, and was produced by Phil Ramone. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “The Stranger” at number 70 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.  The album became Joel’s critical and commercial breakthrough, and remains his best-selling non-compilation album to date. The album was certified 5 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in Hong Kong by “IFPI Hong Kong”; Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ”, and Diamond in the US by “RIIA”.

The original double vinyl album was released with a four-song bonus EP. On September 26, 1969, “Apple Records” label released “Abbey Road” the eleventh Beatles (The) studio album. It was recorded February 22 – August 20, 1969, at “EMI Studios”,  “Olympic Studios”  and  “Trident Studios” in London, and was produced by George Martin. The album recording sessions were the last in which all four Beatles participated. Although “Let It Be” was the final Beatles album before the band’s dissolution in April 1970, most of the album had been recorded before the “Abbey Road” sessions began. The album cover was designed by “Apple Records” creative director Kosh, and It is the only original UK Beatles album sleeve to show neither the artist name nor the album title on its front cover. The cover has become one of the most famous and imitated images in the history of recorded music. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Abbey Road” at number 14 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. On September 25, 1979, “EMI” label released “Entertainment!” the debut Gang of Four album. It was recorded 1979 at “The Workhouse” in London, and was produced by Andy Gill, Jon King and Rob Warr. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 483 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. In 2005, “Q”  magazine  ranked the track “At Home He’s a Tourist” at number 52 on its list of the “100 Greatest Guitar Tracks”.

On September 23, 1991, “Creation Records” label released “Screamadelica”, the third Primal Scream studio album. It was recorded 1990 – 1991, and was produced by The Orb, Hypnotone, Andrew Weatherall, Hugo Nicolson and Jimmy Miller. In 1991, “Melody Maker” and “Select” magazines named “Screamadelica” “Album of the Year”; the album won the first “Mercury Music Prize” in 1992; in 2003,  “NME” magazine placed it at no. 23 in its list of the “100 Best Albums Ever”, and in  2006, the magazine placed it at number 15 in its list of the “Greatest British Albums Ever”; in 2000, “Q” magazine placed “Screamadelica” at number 18 on its list of the “100 Greatest British Albums, and in 2001, the magazine placed it at number 81 on its list of the “Top 100 Albums of All Time”.

In 1998, “Q”  magazine readers voted “After the Gold Rush” the 89th greatest album of all time. In 2003, Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 71 on its list of the “500 Greatest Album of All Time”. In 2003, “NME” magazine ranked “After the Gold Rush” at number 80 of the list of the “Greatest Albums of All Time. On September 18, 1970, “Vertigo” label released “Paranoid”, the second Black Sabbath studio album. It was recorded in June 1970, at “Regent Sound Studios” and “Island Studios” in London, and was produced by Rodger Bain. In 1989, Kerrang! magazine listed the album at number 39 on its list of the “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time”. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 130 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 2006, “Guitar World” magazine ranked “Paranoid” at number 6 on its list of “The Greatest 100 Guitar Albums of All Time.
