On March 28, 1973, “Atlantic” label released “Houses of the Holy”, the fifth Led Zeppelin studio album. It was recorded December 1971 – August 1972, at “Island Studios”, “Olympic Studios” in London, “The Rolling Stones Mobile”, “Stargroves Estate” in Hampshire, and was produced by Jimmy Page. This was band’s first album composed of entirely original material. In 1999, “Houses of the Holy” was certified 11 x Platinum in US by the “RIAA”. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 148 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”. In 2007, “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” inducted “Houses of the Holy” in “The Definitive 200: Top 200 Albums of All-Time”.

On February 25, 1975, “Swan Song” label released “Physical Graffiti”, the sixth studio Led Zeppelin album. It was recorded July – December 1970, January and March 1971, May 1972, January and February 1974, at multiple locations, and was produced by Jimmy Page. The album included unreleased tracks from earlier recording sessions: one outtake from “Led Zeppelin III”, three tracks from “Led Zeppelin IV”, and three tracks from “Houses of the Holy”, including the unused title track. “Physical Graffiti” was certified 16× Platinum in the US by “RIAA”, and 2× Platinum in UK by “BPI”. In 1996, “Mojo” magazine ranked the album at number 47 on its list of “The 100 Greatest Albums Ever Made”; in 2000, “Q” magazine ranked the album at number 32 on its list of the “100 Greatest British Albums Ever”; in 2001 “Classic Rock” magazine ranked the album at number 5 at its list of  “100 Greatest Rock Album Ever”; in 2003, the TV network  “VH1” named it the 71st “Greatest album ever”; in 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Physical Graffiti” at number 70 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”; in 2006 “Guitar World” magazine ranked the album at number 9 at its list of “Reader’s Poll: 100 Greatest Guitar Albums”.  In 1976, the album won “Grammy Award for Best Recording Package”.

On November 19, 1982, “Swan Song” label released “Coda”, the ninth and final studio Led Zeppelin album.  It was released two years after Led Zeppelin had officially disbanded following the death of John Bonham. The album is collection of unused tracks from various sessions during the band’s twelve year career and was produced by Jimmy Page.

On November 8, 1971, “Atlantic” label released the untitled, fourth Led Zeppelin studio album, known as “Led Zeppelin IV”.  It was recorded December 1970 – March 1971 at the  Victorian  House  “Headley Grange”, in Hampshire, and was produced by Jimmy Page. The album was certified 23 x Platinum in US by the “RIAA” and with more than 37 million sold copies worldwide, it became one of the best selling music albums ever. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Led Zeppelin IV” on number 69 on it’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

On October 5, 1970, “Atlantic” label released “Led Zeppelin III”, the third Led Zeppelin studio album. It was composed at a cottage in Wells, known as “Bron-Yr-Aur”, and was recorded  December 1969; January – August 1970, at “Rolling Stones Mobile Studio”, in Headley Grange, Hampshire; “Island Studios”, “Olympic Studios” in London,  and was produced by Jimmy Page.  The album was certified Platinum in Argentina by “CAPIF”; 3 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in UK by “BPI, and 6 x Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

On August 15, 1979, label “Swan Song” released “In Through the Out Door”, the eighth Led Zeppelin studio album .  It was recorded November – December 1978 at ABBA’s “Polar Studios” in Stockholm, and was produced by Jimmy Page.This was band’s final album with completely new material and the last one released before the death of the drummer John Bonham in 1980.  “In Through the Out Door” was certified 2 x Platinum in Australia by the “ARIA”; Platinum in UK by the “BPI” and 6 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

Muddy Waters

On April 30, 1983, McKinley Morganfield aka Muddy Waters died aged 70. He was musician (guitar), singer and somgwriter, named the “Father of modern Chicago Blues”. Waters wrote few classic standards including “I just want to make love to you”, “I’m your Hoochie Coochie Man”, “Got my Mojo working” and had a major influence on many artists including Cream, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin. The Rolling Stones named themselves after Waters’ 1950 song “Rollin’ Stone”.

Sandy Denny

On April 21, 1978, Alexandra Elene MacLean aka Sandy Denny died aged 31. She was singer and songwriter, member and lead singer of “Fairport Convention”, member of the British folk band the “Strawbs”, she formed the short-lived band “Fotheringay”. As solo artists Denny released four albums: “The North star Grassman and the ravens”, “Sandy”, “Like an old fashioned waltz” and “Rendezvous”.

On April 7, 2013, Jeremy Andrew “Andy” Johns died aged 61. He was producer and engineer, worked with many musicians and bands, including: Blodwyn Pig, Humble Pie, Gary Wright, Free, Bobby Whitlock- Bobby Whitlock, West, Bruce and Laing, Jack Bruce, String Driven Thing, Television,  Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Cinderella, McAuley Schenker Group, Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Miller Band, Jethro Tull, The Deviants, Spooky Tooth, Ten Years After, Clouds, Blind Faith, Led Zeppelin,  Rolling Stones, Mott the Hoople, Sailor’s Delight- Sky, Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Joni Mitchell and Eric Clapton.

On March 31, 1976, “Swan Song Records” label released “Presence”, the seventh Led Zeppelin studio album, The album material was written and recorded in period when Robert Plant was recuperating from the injuries he had sustained the previous year in a car accident. It was recorded November–December 1975 in “Musicland Studios” in Munich, and was produced by Jimmy Page.
