On March 24, 2010.

On March 24, 2010, James Joseph Marshall died aged 74. He was a photographer, best known for his photographs of famous rock musicians, including The Beatles (final paid live concert in San Francisco’s Candlestick Park), Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Neil Young, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, The Allman Brothers Band, The Who, Guns N’ Roses and Santana. He was also the chief photographer at Woodstock.

Appetite for Destruction

On July 21, 1987, “Geffen” label released “Appetite for Destruction”, the debut Guns N’ Roses studio album. It was recorded March – April 1987, at “Rumbo Studios”;  “Canoga Park”; “Take One Studio”; “The Record Plant”,and “Can Am Studio” in California, and was produced by Mike Clink. The album’s originally planned cover art was based on Robert Williams’ painting “Appetite for Destruction”. In 1989, “Rolling Stone” ranked “Appetite for Destruction” at number 62 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”; in 2003, “VH1”music channel ranked “Appetite for Destruction”  the 42nd “Greatest Album of All Time”; in 2006,  “Kerrang!” magazine ranked the album at number one on its list of “Best Rock Albums”. The album was huge commercial successes; with sale of more than 30 million copies worldwide, it is one of the best-selling records ever.
