On October 2, 1989, “Reprise” label released “Freedom” the eighteenth Neil Young studio album. It was recorded July 25, 1988–July 10, 1989, at “The Barn-Redwood Digital” in  Woodside, California; :Jones Beach” and “The Hit Factory” in  New York City, and was produced by Neil Young and Nico Botas.

On September 19, 1970, “Reprise” label released “After the Gold Rush”, the third Neil Young studio album. It was recorded 1969 – June 1970, at “Sunset Sound” in Hollywood; “Sound City”; “Van Nuys” in Los Angeles, and “Redwood Studios” in Topanga, California, and was produced by Neil Young, David Briggs and Kendall Pacios. In 1998, “Q”  magazine readers voted “After the Gold Rush” the 89th greatest album of all time. In 2003, Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 71 on its list of the “500 Greatest Album of All Time”. In 2003, “NME” magazine ranked “After the Gold Rush” at number 80 of the list of the “Greatest Albums of All Time. In 1986, the album was certified 2 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”, and 2 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI” in 2004.

On September 15, 1983, “Chrysalis” label released “Sports”, the third Huey Lewis and the News album .It was recorded in 1983, at “Fantasy Studios” in Berkeley, California;“Record Plant” in Sausalito, California, and “The Automatt” in San Francisco, and was produced by   Huey Lewis, Mario Cipolina, Johnny Colla, Bill Gibons and Chris Hayes. The album cover art features a photo of the band at the “2 A.M. Club”, a bar located in Mill Valley, California, where the band had performed during its early days. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; Diamond in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ”, and 7 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded March 2007 – May 2008, at “Sound City Studios”in Los Angeles; “Shangri La Studios” in Malibu, California; Metallica’s HQ in San Rafael, California, and was produced by Rick Rubin. On the 51st “Grammy Awards” in 2009, Metallica won “Grammy Awards” for “Best Metal Performance” for “My Apocalypse”. Producer Rick Rubin received the award for “Producer of the Year, Non-Classical”, and art directors Bruce Duckworth, David Turner & Sarah Moffat were awarded “Best Recording Package”.” Death Magnetic” was awarded “Best Album in the 2009” at Kerrang! Awards. It won “Grammy Award” for “Best Alternative Music Album”. The cover photo was taken by Jesse Dylan, the son of Bob Dylan.

In 1989, “Rolling Stone” ranked “Appetite for Destruction” at number 62 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”; in 2003, “VH1”music channel ranked “Appetite for Destruction”  the 42nd “Greatest Album of All Time”; in 2006,  “Kerrang!” magazine ranked the album at number one on its list of “Best Rock Albums”.
