On June 18, 1984, “Mute” label released “From Her to Eternity”, the debut Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds album. It was recorded September – October 1983, at “The Garden”, and March 1984, at “Trident Studios” in London, and was produced by Flood and Mick Harvey.

The Little Creates

On June 10, 1985, “Warner Bros” label released “Little Creatures”, the sixth Talking Heads studio album. It was recorded October 1984 – March 1985, at “Sigma Sound Studios” in New York City, and was produced by David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison and Tina Weymoth. “Little Creatures” was voted best album of the year in “The Village Voice Pazz & Jop” critic’s poll, and the cover album, created by artist Howard Finster, was voted album cover of the year by “Rolling Stone” magazine. The album was certified Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

On June 4, 1984, “Columbia” label released “Born in the U.S.A.”, the seventh Bruce Springsteen studio album. It was recorded January 1982 – March 1984, at “The Power Station” and “The Hit Factory” in New York City, and was produced by Jon Landau, Chuck Plotkin, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 85 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”. In 2013, “NME” magazine ranked it at number 428 on its list album of the “Greatest Albums of all Time”.

On May 25, 1984, Eric J. Gale died aged 55. It was recorded January 1974 – February 1974, at “Island Studios” and “Olympic Studios” in London, “Ludolph Studios”, in Nederhorst den Berg, and was produced by David Bowie. Thematically, the album is mixture of the George Orwell’s novel “1984” and Bowie’s vision of a post-apocalyptic world.
