On October 15, 1984, “Virgin” label released “The Big Express”, the seventh XTC studio album. It was recorded in 1984, at the “Crescent Studios”, in Bath, UK, and was produced by David Lord, Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, and Peter Phipps.

On October 1, 1984, “Island” label released “The Unforgettable Fire”, the fourth U2 studio album. It was recorded May – August, 1984, at the “Slane Castle”, in County Meath and at the “Windmill Lane Studios”  in Dublin, and was produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois.

Alexis Korner

On January 11,984, Alexis Korner died aged 55. He was musician (guitar, harmonica), singer and songwriter,  regarded “The Founding Father of British Blues”, was a major force behind the British 60’s R&B scene. In the early 60s he formed the band “Blues Incorporated”, featuring at various times Jack Bruce, Charlie Watts, Terry Cox, Davy Graham, Ginger Baker, Long John Baldry, Ronnie Jones, Danny Thompson, Graham Bond, Cyril Davies, Malcolm Cecil and Dick Heckstall-Smith.
