On March 21, 1989, “Sire” label released “Like a Prayer”, the fourth Madonna studio album. It was recorded September 1988 – January 1989, at “D&D Recording” in New York City, “Ocean Way Recording” in Hollywood, and was produced by Madonna, Patrick Leonard, Stephen Bray and Prince. In 2003, magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked the album at number 239 of its list of “500 greatest album of all time”. In 2006, magazine “Q” ranked the album at number 14 in its list of “40 Best Albums of the ’80s”. In 2012, “Slant Magazine” ranked the album at number 20 on its list of “Best Albums of the 1980s”. “Like a Prayer” was certified quadruple platinum by “RIAA”.

Final Cut

On March 21, 1983, “Harvest” label released “The Final Cut”, the twelfth Pink Floyd studio album. It was recorded July – December 1982, at “Mayfair Studios”, “RAK Studios”,”Olympic Studios”, “Abbey Road Studios”, “Eel Pie Studios”, “Audio International Studios” and “The Billiard Room” in London, and “Hookend Manor” in  Oxfordshire, and was produced by Roger Waters, James Guthrie and Michael Kamen. “The Final Cut” was band’s last studio album to include Roger Waters, and also the only Pink Floyd album that does not feature keyboardist Richard Wright. In 1997, the album was certified 2 x Platinum in US by “RIAA”.

On March 12, 1991, “Warner Bros” label released “Out of Time”, the seventh R.E.M. studio album. It was recorded in September 1990, at “Bearsville Studios” in New York, “John Keane Studios”, “Soundscape Studios” in Atlanta, Georgia, “Prince’s Paisley Park Studios” in Chanhassen, Minnesota, and was produced by Scott Litt , Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Bill Berry. “ In 1992, the album won three “Grammy Awards” – “Best Alternative Music Album”, and two for the first single, “Losing My Religion.” It was certified Platinum in US by “RIAA”.

It was recorded July – December 1969, at “Wally Heider’s Studio C” in San Francisco and “Wally Heider’s Studio III” in Los Angeles, and was produced by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and  Neil Young. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Déjà Vu” at number 147 on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”. The album was certified 7 x Platinum in US by “RIIA”.

It was recorded July – September 1993, at “Bad Animals Studio” in Seattle, and was produced by Michael Beinhorn, Chris Cornell, Kim Thayll, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron.  “Superunknown” was certified 5 x Platinum in US by the “RIAA”. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked it at number 336 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time” and at number 38 on magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Albums of the Nineties”. “Kerrang” magazine listed “Superunknown” in its list of “100 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die”.

It was recorded September – December 1985, at “Sweet Silence Studios” in Copenhagen, and was produced by James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Cliff Burton, Lars Ulrich and Flemming Rasmussen. “Master of Puppets” was the band’s last album to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a bus crash in Sweden during the album’s promotional tour. In 2003, “Master of Puppets” was certified 6× Platinum in the US by the “RIAA”, 6× Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Master of Puppets” at number 167 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”; “Time” included the album in its list of the “100 Best Albums of All Time”; magazine “Guitar World” voted “Master of Puppets” the fourth greatest guitar album of all time.
