On May 12, 1972, “Rolling Stones Records” label released “Exile on Main Street”,  the twelve Rolling Stones album. It was recorded October 1970 – March 1972, at “Olympic Studios” in London, in Nellcote in France, and “Sunset Sound Recorders” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Jimmy Miller. In 1998, “Q” magazine readers voted “Exile on Main Street” the 42nd greatest album of all time, and in 2000 the same magazine ranked it at number 3 in its list of the “100 Greatest British Albums Ever”. In 2003, the album was ranked 7th on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

Are you experienced

On May 12, 1967, “Track” label released “Are You Experienced”, the debut Jimi Hendrix Experience studio album. It was recorded October 1966 – April 1967, at “De Lane Lea”, “CBS Studios” and “Olympic Studios” in London, and was produced by Chas Chandler. In 2005, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Are You Experienced” at number fifteenth on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The same magazine ranked four album songs on its list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”: “Purple Haze” at number 17, “Foxy Lady” at number 153, “Hey Joe” at number 201, and “The Wind Cries Mary” at number 379. “Mojo” magazine voted “Are You Experienced” as the greatest guitar album of all time.

On May 1, 2006, “Fiction” label released “Eyes Open”, the fourth Snow Patrol studio album. It was recorded October – December 2005, at “Grouse Lodge Studios” in Ireland; “The Garage” in Kent; “The Garden” and  “Angel Studios” in London. The single “Chasing Cars” went on to sell over 5 million copies worldwide and has spent a total of 166 weeks on the UK “Singles Chart”, more than any other song in history. The album has been certified 7 x Platinum in the UK, by the “BPI”.

Nick Drake Pink Moon

On February 25, 1972, “Island” label released “Pink Moon”, the third and final Nick Drake studio album.  It was recorded on 30 – 31 October 1971, at “Sound Techniques” in London, and was produced by John Wood. Released two years before Drake’s death in November 1974, “Pink Moon” was recorded without a backing band, featuring just Drake on vocals, acoustic guitar and a brief piano riff overdubbed onto the title track.

Hotel California

On December 8, 1976, “Asylum” label released “Hotel California”, the fifth Eagles (The) studio album. It was recorded March – October 1976, at the “Criteria Studios”, in Miami and “Record Plant Studios”, in Los Angeles, and was produced by Bill Szymczyk.  The album won two “Grammy Awards” for the songs “New Kid in Town” and for “Hotel California”. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Hotel California” at number 37 on it‍ ’​‍s list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”, and ranked the song “Hotel California” at number 49 on it’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.
