Santana: Abraxas

In September 1970, “CBS” label released “Abraxas”, the second Santana studio album. It was recorded April – May 1970, at “Wally Heider Studios” in San Francisco, and was produced by Fred Catero and Carlos Santana. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 207 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”, and 5 x Platinum in US by the “RIIA”.

In August 1976, “Asylum” label released “Hasten Down the Wind”, the seventh Linda Ronstadt  studio album. It was recorded May – July 1976, at “The Sound Factory” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Peter Asher. In 1977, the album won “Grammy Award” for “Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female”. The album was certified Platinum in US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded May – June 1973, at “Manor” in Oxfordshire, UK, and was produced by Geoff Leigh, Tim Hodgkinson, Fred Frith, John Greaves and Chris Cutler. The album cover art work was by artist Ray Smith and was the first of the three socks to feature on Henry Cow’s albums.
