On October 11, 1972, “Columbia” label released “Caravanserai”, the fourth Santana studio album. It was recorded February –May, 1972 at “Columbia Studios” in San Francisco, and was produced by Carlos Santana and Mike Shrieve.

On August 31, 1973, “Rolling Stone” label released “Goats Head Soup”, the eleventh Rolling Stones album. It was recorded November – December 1972 and May – June 1973, at the “Dynamic Sound Studio” in Kingston, Jamaica, except “Hide your love”, recorded in 1973, at “De Doelen” in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and was produced by Jimmy Miller.

On August 26, 1991, “Food Records” label released  “Leisure”, the debut Blur album. It was recorded May 1990 – March 1991, and was produced by Steve Lovell, Steve Power,Stephen Street, Mike Thorne and Blur. The artwork for the album originates from a 1930’s photoshoot for a swimming cap ad campaign.

Big Brother And The Holding Company: Cheap Thrills

Cheapthrills

On August 12, 1968, “Columbia” label released “Cheap Thrills”, the second Big Brother and the Holding Company studio album (first one with Janis Joplin as lead singer). It was recorded March-May 1968 and was produced by John Simon, who incorporated recordings of crowd noise to give the impression of a live album, but only the last song, band’s cover of “Ball and Chain”, had been recorded live at “The Fillmore” in San Francisco.  “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Cheap Thrills” at number 338 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
