On November 8, 1981, “Dindisc” label released “Architecture & Morality”, the third Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark album. It was recorded 1980–1981, at “The Gramophone Suite” in Liverpool and “The Manor Studio” in, Shipton-on-Cherwell, and was produced by Paul Humphreys, Andy McCluskey, Malcolm Holmes,  Martin Cooper, Richard Manwaring and Richard Manwaring .

On November 6, 1995, “Parlaphone” label released “Made in Heaven”, the fifteenth Queen studio album. Until the release of “Queen Forever” in 2014, it was the final album containing original material featuring the band’s original line up. Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon worked with vocal and piano parts that Mercury recorded before his death, adding new instrumentation to the recordings. The recordings were made in 1980, 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1993 – 1995, at “Mountain Studios” in Allerton Hill, Cosford Mill, and “Metropolis Studios”, and were produced by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. The album was certified 2 x Platinum in Austria by “IFPI Austria”; Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in Finland by “Musiikkituottajat”; 2 x Platinum in France by “SNEP”; 3 x Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; Platinum in Japan by “RIAJ”; 2 x Platinum in Netherlands by “NVPI”; Platinum in Norway by “IFPI Norway”; Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”; 2 x Platinum in Spain by “PROMUSICAE”; 3 x Platinum in Switzerland by “IFPI Switzerland”, and 4 x Platinum in UK by “BPI”.

On November 3, 1980, “Reprise” label released “Hawks & Doves”, the tenth Neil Young studio album. It was recorded 1974–1977, 1980, at “Quadrafonic” in Nashville; “Village Recorders” in LA; “Indigo Recording Studio” in Malibu; “Triad Recording Studio” in Ft. Lauderdale, and “Gold Star Recording Studio” in Hollywood, and was produced by Neil Young, Tim Mulligan and Elliot Mazer.

On October 13, 1980, “Deluxe” label released the self-titled, debut INXS album. It was recorded 1979 – 1980, at “Trafalgar Studios” in Annandale, New South Wales, and was produced by Duncan McGuire and INXS.

On October 10, 1980, “Fontana” label released “Kilimanjaro”, the debut Teardrop Explodes (The) album. It was recorded in 1980, at “Rockfield Studios” in Monmouth, and was produced by Bill Drummond, David Balfe and Alan Winstanley. In 2000  “Q” magazine placed “Kilimanjaro” at number 95 in its list of the “100 Greatest British Albums Ever”.

On October 3, 1980, “A&M” label released “Zenyatta Mondatta” the third Police (The) studio album. It was recorded July – August 1980, at “Wisseloord Studios” in Hilversum, Netherlands, and was produced by Sting, Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Nigel Gray. The album won two “Grammy Awards” including “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal” for “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and “Best Rock Instrumental Performance” for “Behind My Camel”.  The album was certified Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and 2 x Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

It was recorded March 1995, May–June 1995, at “Rockfield Studios” in Monmouth, Wales, and was produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher. At the 2010 “Brit Awards”, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” was named the greatest British album since 1980. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 378 on its list of the “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
