Exodus

On June 3, 1977, “Island” label released “Exodus”, the ninth Bob Marley and the Wailers studio album. It was recorded 1976 – 1977, at “Harry J. Studio” in Kingston, and “Island Studios” in London, and was produced by  Bob Marley and the Wailers. In 1999,  “Time”  magazine named “Exodus” the best album of the 20th century. In 2001, the TV network “VH1” named it the 26th greatest album of all time. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 169 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.

On June 3, 1970, “Harvest” label released “Deep Purple in Rock”, the fourth Deep Purple studio album. It was recorded October 1969 – April 1970, at “IBC Studios”, “De Lane Lea Studios” and “Abbey Road Studios” in London, and was produced by Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Roger Glover and Ian Gillan. In 2005, “Classic Rock” magazine  awarded “In Rock”, with the “Classic Rock and Roll of Honor Award” in the category “Classic Album”.

On June 2, 1986, “EMI” label released “A Kind of Magic”, the twelfth  Queen studio album. It was recorded September 1985 – April 1986, at “Musicland Studios” in Munich, “Mountain Studios” in Montreux and “Townhouse Studios” in London, and was produced by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor,  Mack and David Richards. The album is based on the soundtrack of the movie “Highlander”, directed by Russell Mulcahy. In the 1994 edition of “The Guinness All Time Top 1000 Albums” the album was ranked at number 171 in its “All-time Greatest Rock and Pop Albums”.

On June 2, 1978, “Charisma” label released the self-titled, second Peter Gabriel album. It was recorded November 1977 – February 1978, at “Relight Studios” in Hilvarenbeek, The Netherlands, and was produced by Robert Fripp. The album cover was by Hipgnosis.

It was recorded October 1977 – March 1978, at “Record Plant Studios” in New York, and was produced by Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau, and Steven Van Zandt. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Darkness on the Edge of Town” at number 151 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA’.

The album is based on their soundtrack for the French movie “La Vallée”, by Barbet Schroeder.
