Eric Johnson: Venus Isle

On September 3, 1996, “Capitol” label released “Venus Isle”, the third Eric Johnson studio album. It was recorded in 1996, at “Saucer One Studio” and “Arlyn Studios” in Austin, Texas, “A&M Studios” in Hollywood, “Digital Services Recording”, “Rocket Ranch Studios” in Houston, “Reelsound Recording Company” in Buda, Texas, and was produced by Eric Johnson and Richard Mullen.

Keith Harwood

On September 3, 1977, Keith Harwood died aged 27. He was a recording engineer, (Olympic Studios), worked with musicians such as The Pretty Things, Ron Wood, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. The Rolling Stones dedicated “Love You Live” to the memory of Harwood.

On September 3, 2009, “ECM” label released “Stone in the Water”, the 22nd Stefano Bollani album. It was recorded in October 2008, at “Avatar Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Manfred Eicher.

Walter Becker

On September 3, 2017, Walter Carl Becker died aged 67. He was musician (guitar, bass), songwriter, and record producer, member of the band China Crisis, but best known as the co-founder, guitarist, bassist and co-songwriter of Steely Dan. As leader he released two albums.
