On July 13, 1973, “EMI” label released the self-titled, debut Queen album. It was recorded December 1971 – November 1972, at “De Lane Lea” and “Trident Studios” in London, and was produced by John Anthony, Roy Thomas Baker, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and  John Deacon. “Guitarist” magazine ranked the album at number 19 on its list of the “Most Influential Guitar Albums of all Time”; in 2008, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album song “Keep Yourself Alive” at number 31 on its list of the “100 Greatest Guitar Songs Of All Time”. The album was certified Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”.

Voodoo Lounge

On July 11, 1994, “Virgin” label released “Voodoo Lounge”, the twentieth Rolling Stones (The) studio album. It was recorded September 1993 – April 1994, and was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins. “Voodoo Lounge” is the band’s first album without Bill Wyman on bass, and the last Rolling Stones album published on cassette. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; Platinum in Mexico by “AMPROFON”; Platinum in Netherlands by “NVPI” and 2 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

Styx-The Grand Illusion

On July 7, 1977, “A&M” released “The Grand Illusion”, the seventh Styx studio album. It was recorded in 1977, at “Paragon Recording Studios” in Chicago, and was produced by Dennis DeYoung, James Young, Chuck Panozzo and Tommy Shaw. The album cover was an homage to a painting by René Magritte “Le Blanc-Seing”, and was designed by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

Barry White

On July 4, 2003, Barry Eugene Carter aka Barry White died aged 58. He was composer and singer-songwriter, known by his distinctive bass – baritone voice. White had a successful career as a singer with the Love Unlimited Orchestra and as a solo artist, winning three “Grammy Awards”, 106 Gold and 41 Platinum albums, with total sale of more than 100 million copies worldwide, which made him one of the best selling artists of all time. His two best known and most popular songs were “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything” and “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe”.

On July 3, 2006, “Warner Bros” label released “Black Holes and Revelations”, the fourth Muse studio album. It was recorded August – December 2005, and was produced by Rich Costey and Muse. The album design was by Storm Thorgerson. In 2008, in a “Q” magazine public vote, “Black Holes and Revelations” was ranked at number 34 on the list of the “The Best British Albums of All time”. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; 3 x Platinum in France by “SNEP”;  Platinum in Ireland by “IRMA”; Platinum in Italy by “FIMI”; Platinum in Switzerland by “IFPI Switzerland” and 3 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI”.
