On October 30, 1995, “island” label released “Different Class”, the fifth Pulp studio album. It was recorded 1994 – 1995, at the “Town House” in London, and was produced by Chris Thomas. The album was big commercial success, going four times platinum. In 2013, ”NME” magazine  ranked the “Different Class” at number 6 in its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

1999

On October 27, 1982, “Warner Bros” label released “1999”, the fifth Prince studio album.  It was recorded in 1982 at the “Kiowa Trail Home Studio” in Minnesota and “Sunset Sound Recorders” in Hollywood, and was produced by Prince. In 2008 the album was inducted into the “Grammy Hall of Fame”, and in 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “1999” on number 163 on it’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

On October 26, 1973, “Columbia” label released “Head Hunters”, the twelfth Herbie Hancock studio album. It was recorded September 1973 at “Wally Heider Studios” and “Different Fur Trading Co.” in San Francisco, and was produced by David Rubinson and Herbie Hancock. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album on number 498 in the list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”

On October 25, 1974, “Island” label released “Natty Dread”, the debut Bob Marley & the Wailers album.  It was recorded in 1973, at “Harry J. Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell, Bob Marley, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Bernard Harvey, Jean Roussel and Al Anderson.  It was the first album  without Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, and the first album recorded with the I-Threes, a female vocal trio that included Bob’s wife, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt.  In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Natty Dread” at number 181 on it’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.

On October 24, 1975, “Island” label released “Siren”, the fifth Roxy Music album.  It was recorded June – September 1975, at the “Air Studios” in London and was produced by Chris Thomas. The album was ranked number 371 on “Rolling Stone” magazine’s 2003 list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

It was recorded January – August 1969, at several locations in the United Kingdom and North America, and was produced by Jimmy Page. In 1989,  “Spin”  magazine ranked the album at number 5 on its list of “The 25 Greatest Albums of All Time”; in 2000, “Q” magazine ranked “Led Zeppelin II” at number 37 on its list of the “100 Greatest British Albums Ever”; in 2003, Rolling Stone” magazine the album at number 75 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time “Led Zeppelin II” was the band’s first album to reach number one in the UK and the US. “Led Zeppelin II” was ranked 4 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; 9 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; 4 x Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and 12× Platinum in the US by the “RIAA”.

On October 21, 1977, “Cleveland International” label released “Bat Out of Hell”, the second Meat Loaf (Michael Lee Aday) studio album.  It was  recorded 1975 – 1976 and was produced by Todd Rundgren.  “But Out of Hell” became not only the biggest Loaf’s commercial released success but is also one of the best selling albums ever, with more than 43 million copies sold worldwide. In 2003, magazine Rolling Stone ranked it at number 343 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

Studios”, in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Aston Barrett and Carlton Barrett . The album features “Get Up, Stand Up”, song that became one of the reggae music trademarks.  In 2003, the album was ranked at number 319 on “Rolling Stone” magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
