John Lennon And Yoko Ono: Double Fantasy

On November 17, 1980, “Geffen” label released “Double Fantasy”, album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.  It was the seventh and final studio album released by Lennon in his lifetime, three weeks after its release, Lennon was murdered. The album was recorded from August 7 to September 22, 1980, at the “The Hit Factory” in New York, and was produced by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Jack Douglas. In 1981, “Double Fantasy” won “Grammy” for “Album of the Year”.

Miles Davies Water Babies

On November 2, 1976, “Columbia” label released “Water Babies”, Miles Davis studio album. “Water Babies” is a collection of “leftovers” from 1967’s “Nefertiti”, “Filles de Kilimanjaro” and 1968’s “In a Silent Way” sessions. The recording sessions took place on June 7, 13, 23, 1967, at “Columbia 30th Street Studio” in New York; and November 11–12, 1968, at “Columbia Studio B” in New York. The album was produced by Teo Macero.

On October 30, 2000, “Island” label released “All That You Can’t Leave Behind”, the tenth U2 studio album.  It was recorded 1998 – 2000, at the” HQ”,” Windmill Lane Studios”,”Westland Studios” and“Totally Wired” in Dublin, and was produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno. The album and its songs won seven “Grammy Awards”.  In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” at number 280 at its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

On August 17, 1959, “Columbia” label released “Kind of Blue” album by Miles Davis. It was recorded March 2 and April 22, 1959, at  “Columbia’s 30th Street Studio” in New York City, and was produced by Teo Macero and Irving Townsend. The album 46 minutes of innovations, improvisation and musical excellence has changed not only the face of jazz but the course of modern music. “Kind of Blue” is not only the best selling jazz album of all times (it was certified quadruple platinum in sales by the “Recording Industry Association of America”) and Davis personal masterpiece but is also regarded as one of the most influential albums in the history of modern music ever. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Kind of Blue” at number 12 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
