On October 30, 1967, “Atco” label released “Buffalo Springfield Again” the second Buffalo Springfield album.  It was recorded July – September 1967, and was produced by Ahmet Ertegün, Richie Furay, Jim Messina, Jack Nitzsche, Stephen Stills and Neil Young.

On August 16, 1995, “Warner Bros” label released “Sleeps With Angels”, the twenty-first Neil Young & Crazy Horse album . It was recorded November 1993 – April 1994,  at “The Complex Studios” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Neil Young and David Briggs. Young created the title track after the death of Kurt Cobain, who quoted him in his suicide note.

It was recorded January 1983  – April 1985 at “House Of David”, in Nashville, “The Castle” in Franklin TN,  “Pedernales Recording Studio” in Spicewood, TX , and live at “The Opry” in  Austin TX, and was produced by Neil Young, David Briggs, Ben Keith, and Elliot Mazer.

J. J. Cale

On July 26, 2015, John Weldon Cale aka J.J. Cale, died aged 74. He was  musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, regarded as one of the originators of the “Tulsa Sound”, a style based on blues, country, rockabilly, and jazz. His unique singing and guitar playing style influenced big number of music artists including Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton who described him as “one of the most important artists in the history of rock”. Songs composed by Cale have been recorded by many famous artists including Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mayer, Johnny Cash, Bobby Bare, Jerry Garcia, Waylon Jennings, Dr. Hook, Captain Beefheart, Freddie King, Beck, Lucinda Williams, Iron and Wine, Ben Bridwell, and Asha Puthli.

It was held two months after Nelson Mandela was released from prison and was broadcasted in 60 countries. The concert artist line-up included: Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, Chrissie Hynde, Jackson Browne, Lou Reed, Natalie Cole, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds, Tracy Chapman, Stetsasonic, André A. On February 13, 1961, Frank Sinatra launched his own record label “Reprise Records”. Sinatra’s main management principle was to allow each artist full creative freedom and bigger ownership of their work; including publishing rights. Some of the artists that recorded for “Reprise Records” were Jimi Hendrix Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Beach Boys and Randy Newman.

He was musician (drums),  in his long career has worked with The Beach Boys, Little Richard, Frank Sinatra, Ike And Tina Turner,The Monkees, Fats Domino, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, The Righteous Brothers, Randy Newman, Bonnie Raitt, Tim Buckley, Little Feat and Elvis Costello.

On March 25, 2014, “Columbia” label released “A MusiCares Tribute to Bruce Springsteen”, a concert video filmed in 2013 at the “MusiCares Person of the Year” ceremony, to honor and pay tribute to Bruce Springsteen for his artistic achievement in the music industry and dedication to philanthropy. The ceremony was hosted by Jon Stewart and features performances by musicians who have long been fans and admirers of Springsteen’s body of work. Springsteen and the E Street Band concluded the ceremony with their own performance. The video is directed by Leon Knoles.
