Cream: Live Cream

In April 1970, “Atco” label released “Live Cream”, the first Cream live album. It comprises one studio track “Lawdy Mama” recorded in May 1967, and four live tracks recorded in March 1968. It was recorded at “Atlantic Studios” in New York City, “Fillmore West” and “Winterland” in San Francisco, and was produced by Ahmet Ertegun, Felix Pappalardi and Robert Stigwood.

On April 7, 1971, “Atlantic” label released “4 Way Street”, the first Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young live album. It was recorded June – July 1970, at “Fillmore East” in New York City, “The Forum” in Los Angeles, “Auditorium Theatre” in Chicago, and was produced by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young.

On November 16, 1970, “Atlantic” label released the self-titled, debut Stephen Stills studio album. It was recorded January – July 1970, at “Island Studios” in London, “The Record Plant” and “Wally Heider” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Stephen Stills and Bill Halverson. In 1974, “New Musical Express” magazine ranked it at number 70 on its list of “The Best Albums of All Time.

Cream: Wheels Of Fire

In July 1968, “Polydor” label released “Wheels of Fire”, the third Cream album. It was recorded in 1968, and was produced by Felix Pappalardi. The album artwork was by Martin Sharp and the photography was by Jim Marshall. It was also released as two single long-players, Wheels of Fire – In the Studio,  and Wheels of Fire – Live at the Fillmore. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Wheels of Fire” at number 205 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”, Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and Platinum in US by “RIIA”.
