On July 12, 1999, “Island” label released “Before the Calm”, the debut Witness album. It was recorded 1998–1999 at “Rockfield Studios” in Wales, and was produced by Phil Vinall.

Henry McCullough

On June 14, 2016, Henry Campbell Liken McCullough died aged 72. He was musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, worked with many musicians including Joe Cocker, George Harrison, Roy Harper, Frankie Miller, Eric Burdon, Marianne Faithful, Ronnie Lane, Donovan, Bobby Harrison, Steve Marriot, Time Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. McCullough was member of Spooky Tooth, The Grease Band, Dr. Feelgood and Wings. As leader he released one EP and five solo albums.

On June 2, 2017, “Infectious Music” and “Canvasback Music” label released “Relaxer”, the third alt-J studio album. It was recorded August 2016 – January 2017, at “Iguana Studios” in Brixton,”Abbey Road Studios” in Westminster, “The Church Studios” in Crouch End, “Strongroom Studios” in Shoreditch, “Ely Cathedral” in Ely, and was produced by Charlie Andrew. The album art was taken from a video game made specifically for the band by Japanese artist Osamu Sato. It was inspired by Sato’s 1998 “PlayStation” video game LSD.

Judge Dread

On March 13, 1998, Alexander Minto Hughes aka Judge Dread died aged 52. He was reggae and ska musician, the first white recording artist to have a reggae hit in Jamaica. “Rolling Stone” magazine  wrote “He sold several million albums throughout his 25-plus year career and was second only to Bob Marley in U.K. reggae sales during the 70s”. Dread has the most banned songs on “BBC” radio of all time.

John Coltrane: My Favorite Things

In March 1961, “Atlantic” label released “My Favorite Things”, the seventh John Coltrane studio album. It was recorded in October 1960, and was produced by Nesuhi Ertegün. In 1998, the album received “Grammy Hall of Fame” award.
