On September 3, 1977, Keith Harwood died aged 27. He was a recording engineer, (Olympic Studios), worked with musicians such as The Pretty Things, Ron Wood, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. The Rolling Stones dedicated “Love You Live” to the memory of Harwood.

On July 20, 1977, Gary Kellgren died aged 38. He was an audio engineer and co-founder of “The Record Plant” recording studios (with Chris Stone). He worked with musicians John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Mick Jagger, Ron Wood, Bill Wyman, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Bobby Goldsboro, The Animals, Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Frank Zappa, Sly, and the Family Stone, Velvet Underground, Rod Stewart, Ravi Shankar, Keith Moon, CSNY, Barbra Streisand, and Neil Diamond. He also worked with producers Chas Chandler, Jack Douglas, Robert Margouleff, Phil Spector, Wes Farrell, Tom Wilson, and Bill Szymczyk.

Bill Withers
On March 30, 2020, William Harrison Withers Jr. aka Bill Withers died aged 81. He was singer-songwriter and musician (guitar, keyboards), active from 1970 until 1985. He composed and recorded several major hits, including “Ain’t No Sunshine” (1971), “Grandma’s Hands” (1971), “Use Me” (1972), “Lean on Me” (1972), “Lovely Day” (1977), and “Just the Two of Us” (1980). Withers won three “Grammy Awards” (1971, 1981, 1987), “ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage” award (2006), was inducted into “West Virginia Music Hall of Fame” (2007), was inducted into “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” (2015), and received honorary degree from West Virginia University.
