On October 19, 1999, “HellCat” and “Mercury” labels released “Rock Art and the X-Ray Style”, the debut Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros album. “Rock Art and the X-Ray Style” was recorded in 1999 and was produced by Antony Genn and Richard Norris.

In 2003, The album was ranked at number 313 on “Rolling Stone’s” magazine list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

It was recorded July1973, at the “Château d’Hérouville”, in Hérouville, France, and was produced by Ken Scott and David Bowie. “Pin Ups” featured cover versions of songs from other authors.  The cover art showed super model Twiggy.

Studios”, in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Aston Barrett and Carlton Barrett . The album features “Get Up, Stand Up”, song that became one of the reggae music trademarks.  In 2003, the album was ranked at number 319 on “Rolling Stone” magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
