On May 8, 2006, “4AD” label released “The Drift”, the thirteenth Scott Walker studio album. It was recorded June 2004 – November 2005, at “Metropolis Studios” and “Chiswick” and “AIR Studios” in London, and was produced by Scott Walker and Peter Walsh.

On May 5, 2003, “Parlaphone” label released “Think Tank”, the seventh Blur studio album. It was recorded November 2001 – November 2002 in London, Morocco and Devon, and was produced by Ben Hillier, Norman Cook, William Orbit and Blur. The album won the “Q” magazine award “Album of the Year”, and was named the best album of 2003, by The Observer.

On May 2, 1989, “Fiction” label released “Disintegration”, the eighth Cure (The) studio album. It was recorded November 1988 – February 1989 at “Hookend Recording Studios” in Checkendon, Oxfordshire, and was produced by David M. Allen and Robert Smith. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 326 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

It was recorded in November 1982, at “Britannia Row” in Islington, and was produced by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert. “Rolling Stone” magazine included “Power, Corruption & Lies” in the list of the top 100 albums of the 1980s.

On March 13, 1995, “Parlaphone” label released “The Bends”, the second Radiohead studio album. It was recorded August – November 1994, at “Abbey Road Studios”, “RAK Studios” in London and “The Manor” in Oxfordshire, and was produced by John Leckie.”The Bends” was certified 3 x Platinum in UK by “BPI” and in Canada by “Music Canada”, and Platinum in US by “RIIA”.

Oxygene

On December 5, 1976, “Disques Dreyfus” label released (in France) “Oxygène” (Oxygen in English), Jean Michel Jarre studio album.  It was recorded August – November 1976, at Jarre home studio in Paris, and was produced by Jarre.  “Oxygen” was a big commercial success and was very important step in the development of electronic music.

On August 12, 1991, “Elektra” label released the self-titled, fifth Metallica album (known as “The Black Album”). It was recorded October 1990 – June 1991, at “One on One Recording Studios” and was produced by Bob Rock, James Hetfield, and Lars Ulrich. The album received worldwide critical acclaim and became the band’s best selling album ever. As of November 2014, the album has spent 328 weeks on the “Billboard” album chart, making it one of the ten longest-running discs of all time. The album was certified 16× Platinum in the USA by the “RIAA”. On December 13, 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 225 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
