On October 17, 2005, “Mute” label released “Playing the Angel”, the eleventh Depeche Mode studio album. It was recorded January – July 2005, at “Sound Design” in  Santa Barbara, California;  “Stratosphere Sound” in New York City, and “Whitfield Studios” in London, and was produced by Ben Hillier.  The album was certified Platinum in France by “SNEP; 2 x Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; Platinum in Hungary by “MAHASZ”; Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”; 3 x Platinum in Russia by “NFPF”, and Platinum in Spain by “PROMUSICAE”.

On October 15, 1990, “Creation” label released “Nowhere”, the debut Ride studio album. It was recorded in 1990, at “Blackwing Studios” in London, and was produced by Marc Waterman. The album cover photography was by Warren Bolster.“Spin” magazine ranked “Nowhere” at number 277 on its list of “The 300 Best Albums of the Past 30 Years (1985–2014)”.

On October 8, 1971, “United Artists” label released “In Search of Space” the second Hawkwind, studio album. It was recorded in 1971, at “Olympic Studios” in London, and was produced by George Chkiantz, Dave Brock, Nik Turner, Del Dettmar, Michael davies, Dik Mik, Dave Anderson, and Terry Ollis.  Graphic artist Barney Bubbles titled the album and designed the cover with space-age poet Robert Calvert produced the accompanying 24-page “The Hawkwind Log” with photos by Phil Franks.
