Duran Duran

On June 15, 1981, “EMI” label released the self-titled, debut Duran Duran studio album. It was recorded in December 1980, at “Red Bus Studios”, “Abbey Road Studios”, “Utopia Studio” and “Chipping Norton Recording Studios”, and was produced by Colin Thurston. In December 1982, the album was certified Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded September 2002 – February 2003, at “Ocean Way Recording” in Hollywood and “Canned Applause” in Oxfordshire, and was produced by Nigel Godrich, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Colin Greenwood and Phil Selway. “Hail to the Thief” was certified Platinum in the UK by the “BPI”, in Canada  by “Music Canada” and in the US by the “RIIA”.

On May 25, 1973, “Virgin” label released “Tubular Bells”, the debut Mike Oldfield album. It was recorded 1972 – 1973, at “The Manor” in Oxfordshire, and was produced by Tom Newman, Simon Heyworth and Mike Oldfield.  “Tubular Bells” was the first album released by “Virgin” label. It was certified 7 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”, 10 x Platinum in Australia by the “ARIA”, and Gold in US by the “RIIA”.  In 1975, Mike Oldfield received “Grammy Award” for the best” Instrumental Composition”.

It was recorded 2009, at “Muscle Shoals Sound Studio” in Sheffield, Alabama, “The Bunker On Apple” in Portland, Oregon, “Easy Eye Sound System” and “Soil of the South Studios” in San Diego, and was produced by The Black Keys, Mark Neill and Danger Mouse.The album was certified Platinum in the US by the “RIAA”; double Platinum in Canada and Gold in the UK.by the “BPI”.  In 2011, “Brothers” won three “Grammy Awards”, including honors for “Best Alternative Music Album”.
