On April 30, 1982, “Jive” label released the self-titled, debut A Flock of Seagulls album. It was recorded in 1981, at “Battery Studios”, and was produced by Mike Howlett and Bill Nelson. In 1983, the album track “D.N.A.” won a “Grammy Award” for “Best Rock Instrumental Performance”.

On November 15, 1986, “Barking Pumpkin Records” label released “Jazz from Hell”, the forty-seventh Frank Zappa album. It was recorded 1985–1986, at “UMRK”; “Palais des Sports” in St. Etienne, France, and was produced by Frank Zappa. “Jazz from Hell” was Zappa’s final studio album released in his lifetime. In 1988, Frank Zappa won “Grammy Award” for “Best Rock Instrumental Performance”.

The Police: Zenyatta Mondatta

On October 3, 1980, “A&M” label released “Zenyatta Mondatta” the third Police (The) studio album. It was recorded July – August 1980, at “Wisseloord Studios” in Hilversum, Netherlands, and was produced by Sting, Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Nigel Gray. The album won two “Grammy Awards” including “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal” for “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and “Best Rock Instrumental Performance” for “Behind My Camel”.  The album was certified Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and 2 x Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

It was recorded at “FRS”, “Metropolis Recording Studios”, “Apollo Control” and “BFD Studios” in London, and was produced by Jeff Beck, Andy Wright, Apollo 440,Me One and Dean Garcia. The album song “Plan B” won the award for “Best Rock Instrumental Performance” at the 2004 “Grammy Awards”.
