On May 19, 1969, “Epic” label released “Pickin’ Up the Pieces”, the debut Poco album. It was recorded in January 1969, and was produced by Jim Messina.

Unicorn

On May 16, 1969, “Regal Zonophone” label released “Unicorn”, the third  Tyrannosaurus Rex studio album. It was recorded November 1968 – February 1969, at “Trident Studios” in London, and was produced by Tony Visconti. It was band’s last album to feature Steve Peregrin Took.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

On May 14, 1969, “Reprise” label released “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere”, the second Neil Young studio album. It was recorded January and March 1969,  at “Wally Heider Recording” in Hollywood, and was produced by Neil Young and David Briggs. This was Neil Young’s first album with his longtime backing band Crazy Horse. The album was certified Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

On May 9, 1969, “Zapple” label released “Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions” the second of three experimental albums of avant-garde music released by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It was recorded in November 1968, at “Room 1, Second West Ward” at “Queen Charlotte’s Hospital” in London, March 1969, at “Lady Mitchell Hall” at “Cambridge University” in Cambridge, and was produced by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Let It Be

On May 8, 1970, “Apple” label released “Let It Be”, the twelve and final Beatles (The) studio album. It was recorded February 1968, January–February 1969, January; March–April 1970, at “Abbey Road Studios” and “Apple Studios” and “Twickenham Film Studios” in London, and was produced by Phil Spector and George Martin. The album was released at the same time with a motion picture of the same name. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Let it Be” at number 392 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by the “ARIA”, 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada” and 4 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded 1968 – 1969, at “Pacific High Recording Studios” in San Francisco, and was produced by Sly Stone. In 1986, “Stand!” was certified Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 118 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
