Johnny Cash: Out Among The Stars

On March 25, 2014, “Legacy Recordings” label released “Out Among the Stars” the posthumous Johnny Cash studio album. The album materials come from the lost 1980s sessions with producer Billy Sherrill, shelved by “Columbia Records”, and discovered and compiled by Cash’s son John Carter Cash in 2012. The materials were recorded 1981-1984, at “Columbia Studios” in Nashville, Tennessee, and “1111 Sound Studios” in Los Angeles, and were produced by Billy Sherrill, John Carter Cash and Steve Berkowitz.

James Marshall

On March 24, 2010, James Joseph Marshall died aged 74. He was  photographer, best known for his photographs of rock musicians, including The Beatles (final paid live concert in San Francisco’s Candlestick Park), Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Neil Young, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, The Allman Brothers Band, The Who, Guns N’ Roses and Santana. He was also the chief photographer at Woodstock.

Butthole Surfers: Locust Abortion Technician

In March 1987, “Touch and Go” label released “Locust Abortion Technician”, the third Butthole Surfers album. It was recorded 1985-1986, and was produced by Gibby Haynes, Paul Leary, Jeff Pinkus, King Coffey and Teresa Nervosa. Album front cover illustration was painted by Arthur Sarnoff, entitled “Fido and the Clowns”.
