In October 1971, “Curtom” label released “Roots”, the second Curtis Mayfield studio album. It was recorded in 1971, at “RCA Studios” in Chicago, and was produced by Curtis Mayfield.

It was recorded April – May 1971, at “Sound Techniques” and “Morgan Studios” in London, and was produced by Mike Vernon. The album was ranked at number 24 in “Q” and “Mojo’s” list of “40 Cosmic Rock Albums.”
