In June 1978, “Ensign Records” label released “A Tonic for the Troops”, the second  Boomtown Rats (The) album. It was recorded in 1978, and was produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, Bob Geldof, Pete Briquette, Gerry Cott, Johnnie Fingers, Simon Crowe, Garry Roberts and Alan Holmes.

It was recorded 1999–2000, at “Third Man Studio” in Detroit, Michigan, and was produced by Jack White. The album name comes from De Stijl (“the style” in English), a Dutch art movement.
