Huey Lewis and the News: Weather

On February 14, 2020, “New Hulex” and “BMG” labels released “Weather”, the tenth Huey Lewis and the News studio album. It was recorded in 2017, at “Trout Farm Studios” in San Rafael, California, and was produced by Huey Lewis and Johnny Colla.

Chick Corea

On February 9, 2020, Armando Anthony “Chick” Corea died aged 79. He was musician (piano, keyboards, percussion), composer and bandleader. He is regarded as one of the major piano players to emerge in jazz during the post-John Coltrane era. Recorded and performed with the most important Jazz musicians including Miles Davis, Mongo Santamaria, Willie Bobo, Blue Mitchell, Herbie Mann, Stan Getz, Roy Haunes, Miroslav Vitous, Stanley Clarke, Richard Davis, Joe Farrell, Joe Henderson, Eric Kloss, Hubert Laws, Herbie Mann, Blue Mitchell, John Patitucci, Wayne Shorter, Cal Tjader, Sonny Stitt, Dave Pike, Armando Peraza, Marion Brown, Sadao Watanabe, Larry Coryell, John Surman, Elvin Jones, Rolf Kühn, Airto Moreira, Antony Braxton, Pete La Roca, Al Di Meola, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ron Carter, Gábor Szabó, Donald Byrd, Tete Montoliu, Chaka Khan, Eddie Gomez, Wallace Rooney, Herbie Hancock, Antonio Sanches, Gary Burton and Hiromi Uehara. Corea formed and lead Return to Forever, Circle, Chick Corea Elektric Band, Chick Corea Akoustic Band and Five Peace Band. As leader he released 77 studio and 23 live albums. Corea won 23 “Grammy Awards”.

Keith Knudsen

On February 8, 2005, Keith Knudsen died aged 56. He was musician (drums), vocalist and songwriter, member of the Blind Joe Mendlebaum Blues Band, Lee Michaels band, The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils and Southern Pacific, but was best known as drummer of The Doobie Brothers. In 2020, Knudsen was posthumously inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” as a member of The Doobie Brothers.

Stone Temple Pilots: Perdida

On February 7, 2020, “Rhino” label released “Perdida”, the eighth Stone Temple Pilots studio album. It was recorded in 2019, and was produced by Jeff Gutt, Deen DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz.

Ivan Kral

On February 2, 2020, Ivan Král died aged 71. He was musician (guitar, bass, cello, piano, keyboards), vocalist, singer-songwriter, record producer and filmmaker. His songs were recorded by artists such as Pearl Jam, Patti Smith, U2, Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Simple Minds. He recorded and performed with Patti Smith, Blondie, John Cale, Iggy Pop, Lucie, Jiri Suchy, Aneta Langerová, Miro Zbirka, Pavel Bobek and Debbi. As leader he released 16 albums.

Drive-By Truckers: The Unraveling

On January 31, 2020, “ATO” label released “The Unraveling”, the twelfth Drive-By Truckers studio album. It was recorded 2017 – 2019 and was produced by David Barbe.
