Barclay James Hervest: Once Again

OnceAgain

On February 5,, 1971, “Harvest” label released “Once Again”, the second Barclay James Harvest album. It was recorded October – November 1970, at “EMI Studios” in London, and was produced by Norman Smith. Magazines “Q” & “Mojo” Classic Special Edition ‘’Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock’’, ranked the album at number 39 in its list of “40 Cosmic Rock Albums”.

On January 21, 1977, “Harvest” label released “Animals” the tenth Pink Floyd studio album. It was recorded April – December 1976, at the “Britannia Row Studios” in London, and was produced by David Gilmour, Roger Waters,  Richard Wright and Nick Mason. The album was certified 4 x Platinum in US by “RIAA”.

On January 3, 1970, “Harvest” label released “The Madcap Laughs”, the debut Syd Barrett solo album.  It was recorded May 1968 – August 1969, at the “Abbey Road Studios” in London, and was produced by Syd Barrett, Peter Jenner, Malcolm Jones, David Gilmour and Roger Waters.

Pink Floyd: The Wall

On November 30, 1979, “Harvest” label released “The Wall”, the eleventh Pink Floyd studio album. This was the last studio album released with the lineup of David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and  Nick Mason. Richard Wright left the band after the release of the album. It was recorded from December 1978 till November 1979, at the “Britannia Row”, “Super Bear Studio”, “Studio Miraval” in France, “CBS 30th Street Studio” in New York, and at the “Producers Workshop” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Bob Ezrin, David Gilmour, James Guthrie and Roger Waters. The album featured band’s only number one single “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2”, and became one of the best selling albums of 1980. By 1999 “The Wall” sold in more than 23 million copies worldwide. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “The Wall” at number 87 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

On October 25, 1969, “Harvest” label released “Ummagumma”,  the fourth Pink Floyd album. It was recorded on 27 April 1969 at the “Mothers Club” in Birmingham,  and  on 2 May 1969 at “Manchester College of Commerce” in  Manchester, and was produced by Norman Smith, David Gilmour, Nick mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright. “Ummagumma” was double album, the first record containing live materials and the second record containing solo compositions by each member of the band.

On October 2, 1970, “Harvest” label released “Atom Heart Mother” the fifth Pink Floyd studio album. It was recorded February – August 1970, at the “Abbey Road Studios” in London,  and was produced by Roger Waters, Nick Mason, David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Norman Smith, and was band’s first album to be specially mixed for four-channel quadraphonic sound as well as conventional two-channel stereo.

Wish You Were Here

On September 12, 1975, “Harvest” label released “Wish You Were Here”, the ninth Pink Floyd studio album. It was recorded January–July 1975, at the “Abbey Road Studios” in London and was produced by David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Nick Mason. The album features composition “Shine on you crazy diamond”, a tribute to Syd Barrett, who left the band seven years earlier due to a mental illness. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 211 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified 7 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; 2 x Platinum in Austria by “IFPI Austria”; 3 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Diamond in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; 2 x Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and 6 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.
