In December 1963, “Verve” label released “These are the Blues”, the 30th Ella Fitzgerald album. It was recorded October 28 – 29, 1963, at “A&R Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Norman Granz.

On May 20, 2013, “Blitz Club” label released “Hearts and Knives”, the fourth Visage studio album. It was recorded 2012-2013, and was produced by John Bryan and Sare Havlicek. “Hearts and Knives” was the band’s first album of new material in 29 years.

John Lewis

On March 29, 2001, John Aaron Lewis died aged 80. He was musician  (piano), composer and arranger, best known as the founder and musical director of the Modern Jazz Quartet. Lewis recorded and performed with number of musicians, including Bill Perkins, Jim Hall, Percy Heath, Chico Hamilton, Sacha Distel,  Gunther Schuller, Svend Asmussen, Albert Mangelsdorff, Helen Merrill, Christian Escoudé,  Hank Jones,  Lew Tabackin, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis Nonet, Harold Farberman, Clifford Brown, Ruth Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson, Joe Newman, Sonny Stitt and J. In February 1978, “Crass Records” label released “The Feeding of the 5000”, the debut Crass album. It was recorded on October 29, 1978, at “Southern Studios”, and was produced by Steve Ignorant, Joy De Vivre, Eve Libertine, Phil Free, Pete Wright,  N. A. Palmer and Penny Rimbaud. This album is considered to be one of the first punk albums to expound anarchist philosophies.

On August 29, 1994, “Creation Records” label released “Definitely Maybe”, the debut Oasis studio album. It was recorded December 1993– April 1994, at “Clear Studios” in Manchester and “The Pink Museum” in Liverpool, and was produced by Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, Tony McCarroll, Mark Coyle, Owen Morris and David Batchelor . In June 2006, “NME” magazine conducted a readers’ poll in which “Definitely Maybe” was voted the greatest album of all time. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; Platinum in Sweden by “GLF”; 7 x Platinum in the UK by the “BPI, and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”
