On January 20, 2009,“Matador” label released “The Crying Light”, the third Antony and the Johnsons’ studio album. It was recorded in 2008, and was produced by Antony Hegarty. The album’s cover artwork features a 1977 photograph of butoh dancer Kazuo Ohno, by Naoya Ikegami.

On January 20, 1997, “Virgin” label released “Homework”, the debut Daft Punk studio album.  It was recorded from 1993 -1996, at “Daft Punk Studio” in Paris, and was produced by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The albums certified 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”, Platinum in France by “SNEP”, Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ” and Platinum in UK by “BPI”.

On January 20, 1978, “United Artists” released “City to City”, the second Gerry Rafferty studio album. It was recorded in 1977,at the “ Chipping  Norton Recording Studios”, and was produced by Hugh Murphy. The album featured the song  “Baker Street”, which reached  5 million plays on British radio, and became Rafferty’s best known song. “City to City” was certified Platinum the US by “RIAA”.

On January 20, 1975, “Columbia” label released “Blood on the Tracks”, the fifteenth Bob Dylan studio album.  It was recorded in September 1974, at ”A & R Recording “in New York, and December, 1974, at “Sound 80” in Minneapolis, and was produced by Bob Dylan. In 2003, magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked the album at number 16, on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”, and in 2004, it was placed at number 5 on “Pitchfork Media’s” list of the “Top 100 Albums of the 70s”. “Blood on the Tracks” was certified 2 x Platinum in the US by “RIAA”.

Glenn Frey

On January 18, 2016, Glenn Lewis Frey died aged 67. He was musician, (guitar, keyboards), singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best known as a founding member of The Eagles.  As a member of The Eagles, Frey won six “Grammy Awards”, and five “American Music Awards”. In 1998, as member of The Eagles, he was inducted in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”. As leader, Frey released five studio and one live album.

The album was ranked at number 22 in the magazine “Rolling Stone” list of “30 Best Albums of 2010” and at number 9 in the “Exclaim!’s” list of Best Pop & Rock Albums of 2010″.
