It was recorded August 2012-January 2013, at “Shangri La Studios” in Malibu, California, “Tone Hall” in Lapworth, Warwickshire, UK, and was produced by Rick Rubin. The album was certified Platinum in Brazil by “Pro-Musica Brazil”, Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada” and Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”.

It was the final Black Sabbath studio album until 2013, to feature Ozzy Osbourne prior to his departure from the band in 1979, and the last full studio album to feature the band’s original lineup.

In 2006, “Guitar World” magazine ranked “Paranoid” at number 6 on its list of “The Greatest 100 Guitar Albums of All Time.
