Local Natives: Gorilla Manor

On February 16, 2010, “Frenchkiss” label released “Gorilla Manor”, the debut Local Natives album. It was recorded in 2009, at “Red Rockets Glare Studio” in Los Angeles, “Hot Pie Studios” in Pasadena, California, and was produced by Taylor Rice, Kelcey Ayer, Ryan Hahn, Matthew Frazier and Andy Hamm.

On January 9, 1984, “Warner Bros” label released 1984 (stylized as MCMLXXXIV on the album’s cover), sixth Van Halen studio album. It was recorded in 1983, at “5150 Studios” in Studio City, California, and was produced by Ted Templeman. The album cover art was by Margo Nahas.  The album was certified 5 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada’, Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”, and Diamond in US by the “RIIA”.

It was recorded June – October 1972, at “BBC 2 Studio” in  Baambrugge, Utrecht, Netherlands, and “Village Recorders” in California, and was produced by Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chapin, Ricky Fataar, Alan Jardine and Mike Love. In 2007, the Netherland magazine “OOR Magazine” ranked the album among “100 Best Albums of All Time”.
