On May 9, 2000, “Atlantic” label released “The New America”, the eleventh Bad Religion studio album.It was recorded October-December 1999, at “Victor’s Barn” in Kauai, Hawaii, and was produced by Todd Rundgren.

In April 1972, “RCA” label released “He Touched Me”, the seventeenth Elvis Presley studio album. It was recorded March–June 1971, and was produced by Felton Jarvis. The album won Presley his second “Grammy Award”. In July 1999 the album was certified Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

The album cover art was artwork by the LA Street Phantom aka Joey Krebs aka Joel Jaramillo.Both “Time” and “Rolling Stone” magazines named it the Best Album of 1999.

Milt Jackson

On October 9, 1999, Milton “Milt” Jackson, also known as “Bags”, died aged 76.  He was musician (vibraphone, piano), a bebop player, member of Modern Jazz Quartet. He recorded and performed with many famous jazz musicians including: Howard McGhee,  Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, Hank Mobley, Quincy Jones, Dinah Washington, Benny Carter, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson, Wes Montgomery, Ray Brown, Hubert Laws, Joe Pass, Mickey Roker and J. J. Johnson. As leader Jackson released 68 albums.

It was recorded 1999 – 2001, at “Still Life Studios” in Los Angeles, and “Small Mercies Studio” in Hollywood, and was produced by Sharon Robinson. The album was certified Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”, and Platinum in Poland by “ZPAV”.
