On December 9, 2010, James Moody died aged 85. He was musician (saxophone, flute) and singer, best known for his work in bebop and hard bop Jazz. He recorded and performed with some of the biggest names in Jazz music including Dizzy Gillespie, Art Farmer, Kenny Barron, Jon Faddis, Eddie Jefferson, Johnny Coles, Todd Coolman, Rufus Reid, Gil Fuller, Milt Jackson, Dexter Gordon, Elvin Jones, Quincy Jones, Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Lalo Schifrin, Bobby Thimons, Cedar Walton, Tubby Hayes, and Roberta Gambarini. In 2011, Moody posthumously won “Grammy Award” for “Best Jazz Instrumental album”, for his album “Moody 4B”. The “New Jersey Performing Arts Center” hosts the “James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival”. As a leader Moody released 44 albums.

He recorded and performed with many famous jazz musicians including: Howard McGhee, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, Hank Mobley, Quincy Jones, Dinah Washington, Benny Carter, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson, Wes Montgomery, Ray Brown, Hubert Laws, Joe Pass, Mickey Roker and J. J. Johnson. As leader Jackson released 68 albums.
Clark Terry
On February 21, 2015, Clark Terry died aged 94. He was musician (trumpet, flugehorn) and composer, pioneer of the flugehorn in Jazz, educator, and “NEA Jazz Masters” inductee. His career spanned more than seventy years and in which he played with Charlie Barnet (1947), Count Basie (1948–1951), Duke Ellington (1951–1959) and Quincy Jones (1960). He is among the most recorded Jazz musicians ever.
