Magnum: Wings of Heaven

On July 11, 1988,“Polydor” label released “Wings of Heaven” the seventh Magnum studio album. It was recorded 1987 – 1988, at “Wisseloord Studios” in Hilversum, Netherlands, and was produced by Albert Boekholt, Bob Catley, Tony Clarkin, Wally Lowe, Mark Stanway and Mickey Barker.

On June 26, 1989, “Epic” label released the self-titled, debut Bad English album. It was recorded 1988 – 1989, at “One on One Recording Studios”, “A&M Studios”, “Conway Studios”, “Secret Sound L.A”. and “Pacific Sound”, and was produced by Richie Zito. The album was certified Platinum in US by “RIAA”.

George Young

On October 22, 2017, George Redburn Young died aged 70. He was musician (guitar, bass, piano, drums), songwriter and music producer, member of the Australian band the Easybeats. With his bandmate Harry Vanda he wrote the hits “Friday on My Mind” and “Love Is in the Air”. In 1973, with Harry Vanda and Ted Albert, he formed “Albert Productions” in Sydney. George Young and Harry Vanda were also producers for AC/DC, (formed by his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus Young). In 1988, George Young and Harry Vanda were inducted into the “ARIA Hall of Fame”.

George Michael: Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1

On September 3, 1990, “Columbia” label released “Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1”, the second George Michael album. It was recorded December 1988-July 1990, and was produced by George Michael. The album won the “Best British Album” award at the 1991 “BRIT Awards”. The album was certified 2 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP’; Platinum in Japan by “RIAJ”; Platinum in Netherlands by “NVPI”; Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ”; Platinum in Spain by “PROMUSICAE”; Platinum in Switzerland by “IFPI Switzerland”; 4 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, and 2 x Platinum in US by the “RIIA”.

On July 17, 1981, “Columbia” label released “Escape” (E5C4P3 on the album cover) the seventh Journey studio album. It was recorded April – June at “Fantasy Studios” in Berkeley, California,  and was produced by Mike Stone, Kevin Elson and Steve Perry. In 1988, “Kerrang!” readers voted “Escape” the greatest AOR album of all time. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Canada by “CRIA”, and 9 x Platinum in US by the “RIIA”.
