Anthony Wilson

On August 10, 2007, Anthony Howard Wilson died aged 57. He was radio and television presenter, a journalist for Granada Television and the BBC, nightclub manager (Haçienda), manager of bands A Certain Radio and Durutti Column, best known as one of the co-founders of “Factory Records” (Happy Mondays, Joy Division and New Order). Wilson was known as “Mr. Manchester”, for his work in the promotion of the culture of Manchester.

Happy Mondays: Bummed

In November 1988, “Factory” label released “Bummed”, the second Happy Mondays album. It was recorded in August 1988, at “Slaughterhouse” in Great Driffeld, East Yorkshire, ”Strawberry Studios” in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and was produced by Martin Hannett.

In April 1987, “Factory” label released “Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)”, the debut Happy Mondays album. It was recorded in December 1986, and was produced by John Cale.

James Hannett

On April 9, 1991, James Martin Hannett died aged 43. Initially credited as Martin Zero, he was a record producer and an original partner and director at “Factory Records” (together with Tony Wilson).  Zero worked with The Smiths, New Order, Joy Division, Happy Mondays, Magazine, U2 and The Psychedelic Furs.
