Tom Waits: Rain Dogs

Rain Dogs

On September 30, 1985, “Island” label released “Rain Dogs” , the eighth Tom Waits album. The middle album of the trilogy that includes “Swordfishtrombones” and “Franks Wild Years”, was recorded at the “RCA Studios” and was produced by Tom Waits. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Rain Dogs” at  number 397 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

The album was certified Platinum in the UK by the “BPI”, and was among the UK’s 30 best selling albums of both 1978 and 1979.

Electric warrior

On September 24, 1971, “Fly” label released “Electric Warrior”, the sixth T. Rex studio album. It was recorded March–June 1971 at “Trident Studios” and “Advision Studios” in  London,  “Wally Heider Studios” in Los Angeles and “Media Sound Studios” in New York, and was produced by Tony Visconti. The cover artwork was designed by art design group Hipgnosis, based on a photograph taken by Kieron “Spud” Murphy at concert at the “Albert Hall”, Nottingham on May 14, 1971.

Robbie McIntosh

On September 23, 1974, Robert Broderick James ‘Robbie’ McIntosh died aged 24. He was musician (drums), in the late 60’  member of the bands The Senate and Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express,  but he is best known as a founding member and drummer of The Average White Band.
