The Pop Group: I For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder?

On March 21, 1980, “Rough Trade” label released “l For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder?, the second Pop Group (The) album. It was recorded in 1979, at “Foel Studios” in Llanfair Caereinion, Powys, Wales, and was produced by Mark Stewart, John Waddington, Fareth Sager, Dan Catsis and Bruce Smith.

Ginger Baker

On October 6, 2019, Peter Edward “Ginger” Baker died aged 80. He was musician (drums, percussion) and song writer, credited as pioneer of drumming in rock, jazz fusion and world music, with reputation of “rock’s first superstar drummer”. Baker was member of the bands Blues Incorporated and Graham Bond Organisation, but he achieved worldwide success as co-founder and drummer of super group Cream, together with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce. After Cream he was member of Blind Faith and founded Ginger Baker’s Air Force and Ginger Baker’s Energy. He has worked with big number of musicians and music acts such as Gary Moore, Masters of Reality, Public Image Ltd, Hawkwind, Atomic Rooster, Bill Laswell, Charlie Haden and Bill Frisell. As leader Baker released 18 albums.

Blind Faith: Same

In August 1969, “Polydor” label released the self-titled, debut and only  Blind Faith album. It was recorded February – June 1969, at “Olympic Studios” and “Morgan Studios”, and was produced by Jimmy Miller. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”, Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”, Platinum in Netherlands by “NVPI”, Platinum in Norway by “IFPI Norway” and Platinum in US by the “RIIA”. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 14 on its list of the “The 30 Greatest One Album Wonders”.

On January 29, 2002, “Elektra” label released “Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence”, the sixth Dream Theater” studio album. It was recorded in 2001, at the “Bear Tracks Studios” in New York, and was produced by Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci.

Andy Johns

On April 7, 2013, Jeremy Andrew “Andy” Johns died aged 61. He was producer and engineer, worked with many musicians and bands, including: Blodwyn Pig, Humble Pie, Gary Wright, Free, Bobby Whitlock- Bobby Whitlock, West, Bruce and Laing, Jack Bruce, String Driven Thing, Television,  Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Cinderella, McAuley Schenker Group, Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Miller Band, Jethro Tull, The Deviants, Spooky Tooth, Ten Years After, Clouds, Blind Faith, Led Zeppelin,  Rolling Stones, Mott the Hoople, Sailor’s Delight- Sky, Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Joni Mitchell and Eric Clapton.
