The album was big commercial success, going four times platinum. In 2013, ”NME” magazine  ranked the “Different Class” at number 6 in its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

It was recorded July – September 1977, at “Sarm West” and “Wessex Studios” in London, and was produced by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and co-produced by Mike Stone. The album’s cover was a painting by American sci-fi artist Frank Kelly Freas.

On October 26, 1973, “Track” label released “Quadrophenia”, the sixth Who (The) studio album. “Ouadrophenia” was band’s second rock opera and was released as a double album. It was recorded May–June 1972 and May–September 1973, at the “Olympic Studios” and “Ramport Studios” in London with “Ronnie Lane’s Mobile Studio”, and was produced by John Entwistle, Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon , Pete Townshend, Kit Lambert and was co-produced by  Glyn Johns.
