On April 24, 1972, “Ardent” label released “#1 Record”, the debut Big Star studio album.  It was recorded May 1971 – February 1972, at “Ardent Studios” in Memphis, and was produced by John Fry.

On February 21, 1992, “Rykodisc” label released “I Am the Cosmos”, the only Chris Bell album. It was posthumously released with materials recorded 1974 – 1975, at “Studio Hérouville” in Château d’Hérouville, France, and was produced by Chris Bell.

He was musician (bass), member of The Soft Boys, Thompson Twins, Bruce Woolley & The Camera Club and The Dolphin Brothers, recorded and performed with Thomas Dolby, David Bowie, Robyn Hitchcock, Kimberley Rew, Alex Chilton, The Waterboys, Peter Murphy, Transvision Vamp, Morrissey, Stereo MC’s, Sam Brown, Tori Amos, Stereo MC’s and Sinéad O’Connor.
