He was musician (bass), singer, and songwriter, was member and worked with Hawkwind, The Rockin’ Vickers, Opal Butterfly, The Damned, The Head Cat, Girlschool, and Sam Gopal, but was best known as founder, leader, singer, primary songwriter, and bass player of Motörhead.
