Miles Davis

On September 28, 1991, Miles Dewey Davis III aka Miles Davis died aged 65. He was musician (trumpet), bandleader, and composer, one of the most influential and respected figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. In his five decades-long career, Davis has changed several times the course of jazz music and has created and recorded some of the most important albums of modern music.  For his work, he has been  awarded the highest awards including:

On September 28, 1987, “Mute” label released “Music for the Masses” the sixth Depeche Mode studio album. It was recorded February – July 1987, at “Studio Guillaume Tell” in Paris; “Konk” in London, and was produced by Dave Gahan , Martin L. Gore, Andy Fletcher, David Bascombe and Daniel Miller. The album was certified Platinum in France  by “SNEP”, and Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

On September 28, 1978, “Vertigo” label released “Never Say Die!” the eighth Black Sabbath studio album. It was recorded January–May 1978, at “Sound Interchange” in Toronto, Ontario, and was produced by Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. It was the final Black Sabbath studio album until 2013, to feature Ozzy Osbourne prior to his departure from the band in 1979, and the last full studio album to feature the band’s original lineup.

On September 28, 1976, “Motown” label released “Songs in the Key of Life”, the eighteenth Stevie Wonder studio album. It was recorded 1974 – 1976: at “Crystal Sound” in Hollywood; “Record Plant” in Los Angeles; “Record Plant” in Sausalito;”The Hit Factory” in New York City, and was produced by Stevie Wonder. The original double vinyl album was released with a four-song bonus EP. In 2005, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Song in the Key of Life” at number 57 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”. The album was certified 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in UK by “BPI”; Diamond in the US by “RIIA”;
