On June 15, 1980, “Columbia” label released “Old Crest on a New Wave”, the ninth Dave Mason studio album. It was recorded in 1980, at “Hollywood Sound Recorders” in Hollywood, and was produced by Dave Mason and Joe Wissert.

On October 29, 1973, “CBS” label released “It’s Like You Never Left”, the fourth  Dave Mason studio album. It was recorded in 1973, at “CBS Studios” in San Francisco, “Record Plant” in Los Angeles, “Sunset Sound Recorders” in Hollywood, and was produced by Dave Mason.

Carl Radle

On May 30, 1980, Carl Dean Radle died aged 37. He was musician (bass, guitar) and music producer, best known as the bass player with Derek and the Dominoes. Radle has worked with many influential artists including  Gary Lewis & the Playboys, George Harrison, Joe Cocker, Dave Mason, Delaney and Bonnie, Eric Clapton, Jim Gordon, Duane Allman, Bobby Whitlock, Rita Coolidge, Kris Kristofferson. J. J. Cale, Leon Russell, and Buddy Guy. In 2006, he was posthumously inducted to the “Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame”.

In October 1968, “Island” label released the self-titled, second Traffic studio album. It was recorded January – May 1968, at “Olympic Studios” in London, “Record Plant” in New York City, and was produced by Jimmy Miller.

Traffic: Last Exit

In May 1969, “Island” label released “Last Exit”, the third Traffic album. The first half of the album consists of studio recordings, recorded in 1968, at “Morgan Studios” in London, the second half was recorded live on March 14, 1968 at the “Fillmore West”, and was produced by Jimmy Miller.

In April 1970, “Bell Records” label released “Portrait”, the fifth 5th Dimension album.  It was recorded August 1969-March 1970, at Wally Heider Studios in Hollywood, and was produced by Bones Howe. The album  cover features an impressionistic portrait by the artist LeRoy Neiman.
